When I wrote last night about how anarchists are spoiling environmental and social justice movements, I didn’t mention Julian Ichim, but he’s definitely one of the people I was writing about. Ichim is on of the more despicable characters in Ontario’s anarchist community- if it wasn’t for his incompetence, he’d likely be a danger too. Instead, he’s more of a mosquito, or a fly in the ointment…

That said, the disruption he’s been causing has been rather expensive and damaging…

How Anarchists Are Spoiling Environmental & Social Justice Movements (feat. Zoe Blunt & Zach Ruiter)

After a year of investigating, it has become obvious to me that the Canadian environmental movement has been deeply infiltrated by anarchists. Contrary to what one would expect of anarchists, they are incredibly well-organized- on a national scale. They’re also backed (and often financed) by some high-profile people and organizations who have made this infiltration possible.

This article isn’t about the dangers of anarchy- regardless, most of these people can’t be considered to be real anarchists. There are anarchists among them, but most of those who have taken leadership are more connected to Marx & Trotsky than they are to Kropotkin. Zoe Blunt, David Eby, Olympic Violence And Disappearing Legal Observers…

I wasn’t planning to write about David Eby’s connection to the violence at the 2010 Olympics again so soon- it was something I was planning to cover in more depth early next year. But, I was doing some research on Victoria anarchist (and wannabe eco-terrorist) Zoe Blunt tonight and came across her analysis of the event. It was interesting, so I figured I’d share. I’ve also found some links between Blunt and a couple other anarchists I’ve been covering.

Personally, I believe that if any one incident has the potential to turn-off Point Grey residents from voting for Eby, then this is the one. The day the anarchists got in a street fight with the VPD and smashed the windows of the Bay was shameful for most Vancouverites- even Charlie Smith of the Georgia Straight (and ally of Eby’s crowd) called this day one of the Lowlights of the Olympics.

Eby’s participation in this incident leaves a log of open questions…

I heard some great news today, David Eby has announced his intention to run for for the seat at Vancouver Point Grey.  Wait, I know what you’re thinking- what could be great about having a cop-hating, anarchist hugging, promoter of cop baiters in a position of power?

Nothing, of course, we must do everything within our power to stop this from happening. The great part about it is that I now have several months of hilarious content ahead of me! Because, not only is Eby a real schmuck, but some of the things he’s done (and those he will do in the future) have been a great source of satiric inspiration. So, everyone, hang on for a great ride over the next few months!

One of the most wacky, but intriguing, websites I’ve come across in Canada is WaterWarCrimes.com. Most people think that John Carten (who runs the site) is simply batshit crazy. It’s easy to assume this at first, because the accusations Carten makes are rather out-of-this-world. He believes there’s an ongoing conspiracy to kill judges and politicians. For example, today, he’s speculating that the Queen may be in the process of being murdered.

If Carten’s spy-novel styled articles don’t leave you giggling, the audio recording on his site (that plays automatically) will probably do it for you. Besides the over-dramatization of what he says- he regularly takes a break to play the sound of bubbling bong water. Honestly, Carten’s website is one of the most bizarre I’ve ever seen…

Fortunately, they only make it more obvious what they are up to when they do stuff like this…

One side consisted of the Activistocrats, a group of professional activists who came from lefty environmental movements. The other side are We Are Change, a group of activists connected to the Truth Movement. Today is another Occupy anniversary for me- it was a year ago I started this website. If you were there with me that day, and told me what was going to happen over the next year I’d probably not have believed you. The past year has been Toad’s Wild Ride- 750 stories later, what I’ve learned and experienced was at par with my first year living in Moscow.

In the early days of Occupy, a large number of people involved used Facebook to share and discuss ideas. Nobody would have guessed that in the battle between Jason Bowman and Kevin Annett that Bowman could possibly come on-top. After all, Bowman was caught red-handed in a lie that he had filed a case in Toronto’s federal court. Once it became apparent that he didn’t show-up at the courthouse, most reasonable people figured that Bowman’s reputation was totally shot. Well, apparently not with Bill Squire- it appears he has even given Bowman an Indian name. It’s quite hilarious when you realize that Kevin Annett lost his Indian name back in Brantford. No One Is Illegal, Jason Kenney, Parti Quebecois, And Anti-Racist Hypocrisy…

According to NOW Toronto, No One Is Illegal (NoII) is the best of Toronto’s activist organizations. NoII led the pack of Black Bloc anarchists during the G20, it was a day few will forget considering the amount of damage and violence that occurred. It wasn’t until I understood that NOW has Trotskyist roots that their decision to include NoII in their poll made any sense to me. And, in case you forgot, one of the fundamentals of Trotsky’s philosophy was that the revolution needs violence. Ugly stuff…
