DTES Harm Reduction In-Action
SILENCE = DEATH
One of the reasons I’m so passionate about what is happening in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) is because of how horrified I was to see it when I moved back to Vancouver six years ago. The city has always had its problems- but, they weren’t nearly as bad when I left back in the 80’s. Today, it looks like a zombie movie.
Maintaining the status-quo in the DTES is an act of murder…

Jennifer Allan: Liar or Pawn?
I’ve been told that Jenn Allan is a good hearted person. She’s a Christian, a former sex worker, someone who provides free food to current sex workers. An angel some would say. So, considering this, I was willing to give her the benefit of doubt. That was, until she went on CKNW yesterday, lying to the public. Now, I am left wondering, is Jenn a boldfaced liar- or, is there something more to the story. Perhaps she its a pawn? If so to who? Continue reading

I heard that Vancouver Cop Watch (VCW) would be on CKNW when they tweeted it out a couple of days ago. So, I emailed CKNW’s Susanne Hill and made sure she was up-to-date on the stories I wrote about VCW. I’d figured she had- as, the word on the street I’d caused quite a stir, but wanted to make sure.
I called into the show today, was on-hold during most of it- and, unfortunately, they didn’t get me on before time was up. This was a little disappointing, as the show was in need of some serious balance…

OPSEU 330 President Silvanna Petersen- A New World Order?
Considering how much time the unions spend talking about repression, it amazes me to see OPSEU at work these days. Above is a picture of Silvanna Petersen, local 330 president, donning her full stormtrooper- the equipment that OPSEU recommends that teachers use in the classroom! It kind of leads one to question- shouldn’t they require drug tests for leaders?
Perhaps this is normal in Silvanna’s bedroom (she looks like a natural)- but, I can’t believe any sane Canadian would like to see this in their children’s classrooms! Is this the New World Order that OPSEU is trying to build for us?

I’ve just come back from Toronto’s casseroles march tonight- it was a beautiful evening for it, lovely weather. I Ieft early, at about 8:30- there were only about 125-150 people there at the time. This is a far-cry from the 600 who turned-up last week, and the 3,000 who showed-up the week before. It seems to me that the people of Toronto aren’t that enthusiastic about having a Marxist revolution.

Peter Tupper: Shilin' it for the DTES povertarians...
There are two ways I know when a story has been successful. First, I am blessed with 1000’s of hits from you, my dear readers. The second way is when I see someone publishing an article to counter my writing- this happened recently when ScoutMagazine.ca ran a story that included criticism about when I wrote about Irwin Oostinde running sadomasochist club nights at the W2 Media Cafe.
Both of these incidents occurred again over the past three days with my story about VANDU, Vancouver Coastal Health & Vancouver Cop Watch…

You’ve probably heard by now that David Eby is busy trying to establish a foothold for the BC Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA) up north. I first heard of this when I published my story Civil Liberties Czar Endures Cheap Airport Wine! Obviously, this man is no saint.
