Censored! A Letter to the People of Occupy Toronto

Here’s a letter I posted to all of the people at Occupy Toronto- that is, all of those who I could reach. It seems, unfortunately, that some of the people who consider themselves as leaders in our leaderless organisation have decided to practice conviction without trial. So, contrary to our agreement, they blocked my ability …

Conflict of Interest: Civil Liberties and Politicians Don’t Mix

By grenouf in #KeepingItClassy, Anti-Poverty Committee, BCCLA, Black Bloc, British Columbia, Canada, Christy Clark, Conspiracy, David Eby, DTES, Harsha Walia, NDP, Olympics, Politics, Stimulat0r, Vancouver, Violence, VPD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Wd7vUOCE8M?rel=0&w=560&h=315 I’m currently researching an essay on the politicization of Civil Liberties Associations. Today I found an interesting video by Stimular0r interviewing Laurence Hildes, the head of the National Lawyers Guild. The video discusses David Eby’s denouncement of the Heart Attack incident during the Olympics.

Hate Mail From CUPE! (And my response…)

By grenouf in Black Bloc, Canada, CUPE, Direct Actions, FAIL, Media, NDP, Occupy Canada, Occupy Movement, Occupy Vancouver, Politics, Toronto G20, Unions, Vancouver

I got the most lovely letter today from Rob Chamberland, president of CUPE Local 2073. It sounds like he is angry and vindictive- could it be having to repeat “oh ye brothers and sisters” too often each day, or is there something more to the story? Here’s the letter, filled with all of the exaggeration and …

David Eby: Politician, or Civil Libertarian? (And why he needs to resign..)

By grenouf in #KeepingItClassy, #RiceWine, Adam Smolcic, Anti-Poverty Committee, Anti-Violence, Black Bloc, British Columbia, Canada, Christy Clark, Conspiracy, David Eby, DTES, FAIL, Kingsway Mafia, NDP, No One Is Illegal, Olympics, Politics, Stimulat0r, Terrorism, Vancouver, Violence, VPD

I was talking with a couple of people this morning who mentioned that someone had sent an email around Occupy Toronto that was trying to do some ‘damage control’ on my last blog entry. I’ve not seen the letter but I’ve been told that, as usual, Eby’s protectorate were trying to frame him as being …

The Curious Case of Adam Smolcic, David Eby & the Occupy Movement.

By grenouf in #KeepingItClassy, #OccupyHarper, #RiceWine, Adam Smolcic, Black Bloc, British Columbia, Canada, Cannabis Culture Magazine, Conspiracy, Courts, David Eby, FAIL, NDP, Occupy Movement, Occupy Ottawa, Politics, Vancouver, Violence, VPD

I’ve been holding off on this story for a while- wasn’t sure where it would lead, and thought I’d give it some time to percolate as more information became available. I’ve learned a few things since then- and, along with other stories I’ll publish over the next few days, it appears to have a some …

Should Occupations Distance Themselves from Occupy Oakland?

By grenouf in #KeepingItClassy, Anti-Violence, Black Bloc, British Columbia, Canada, Chris Waddell, Conspiracy, Council of Canadians, David Eby, FAIL, Kingsway Mafia, NDP, Occupy Movement, Occupy Oakland, Occupy Vancouver, Olympics, Politics, Terrorism, Vancouver, Violence, VPD

The Occupy Black Bloc issue continues to get traction in the media- slowly, the world is realizing that Diversity of Tactics is damaging our movement… A couple of days ago I tweeted a story by Jon Stewart warning Occupy Oakland that You will always be judged by your worst elements. And, it appears that Jon …

These Are The People Occupy Vancouver Marched To Support Today? WTF?

By grenouf in #KeepingItClassy, Black Bloc, FAIL, NDP, Occupy Movement, Occupy Oakland, Occupy Vancouver, Politics, Violence

Occupy Oakland is notorious for its issue with the Black Bloc. Starhawk has been rather vocal about this issue- there is a great debate about it on Youtube…

More on Chris Waddell…

By grenouf in Black Bloc, British Columbia, Canada, Chris Waddell, Conspiracy, Council of Canadians, Kingsway Mafia, NDP, Occupy Movement, Occupy Vancouver, Politics

As suspected, Chris is up to something- and it doesn’t seem to be something positive. It is undeniable now- OV has been hijacked by people who are in it for their own agenda, not for the good of the 99%! Will share more information as it becomes available…

Who Is This Guy, and Who Does He work for?

By grenouf in #KeepingItClassy, Adam Smolcic, Black Bloc, British Columbia, Canada, Conspiracy, David Eby, DTES, FAIL, Kingsway Mafia, NDP, Occupy Movement, Occupy Vancouver, Politics, Ruth Meta, Vancouver

I’ve had my doubts about Chris for a while now- he has been involved in several incidents where people were summarily ‘banished’ from Occupy Vancouver. (Curiously, this list is now larger that those who still work with OV…) There is a curious coincidence between Chris’ name, and the name of a quite famous BC NDP …

I met someone with an interesting persepctive while I was staying at the hostel in Victoria last week. He was from Mexico, from a political family, and had some relevant ideas to share with the Occupy movement. His words have been resonating in my head ever since we talked… I shared my experience setting-up the …
