Kevin Annett: A Man Who Tried To Hijack The Canadian Occupy Movement…

There have been a lot of bizarre and unlikely characters who came to Canadian Occupations- people of every type. Some were innocent, and some more sinister. We had people coming from feminist and anarchist groups who tried to hijack the movement. Then, we had Kevin Annett- a man who brought a magical story about imprisoning the Queen and the Pope.

Originally, Annett was clergy in the United Church. He was assigned to a few churches, but he walked-out of each church he was assigned to. In the end, after having a divided flock, the United Church felt the need to intervene. They asked him to attend a psychiatric assessment and he refused. They went through a lengthy process and intervention before he eventually left the church.

Will There Soon Be Fleets Of Drones In Canadian Skies? (Here’s How To Stop Them…)

Drone Being Used By The Halton Region Force…

Dear Canadians,

Are you ready for armies of drones in your skies? If not armies, how many drones would be acceptable to you? What should be the rules for these drones? Will they be allowed to hover a video camera over your back yard? How many times are you willing to be analysed by a drone in the average day? How close are they allowed to fly to you and your family?

Will they only have simple cameras? Is it okay if they are infrared cameras that can see heat patterns?  How about future technologies to sniff for drugs and other banned substances? Will they be allowed to access your RFID passports and drivers licenses? Will they have directional microphones?

Occupy Anniversary: My CBC Interview- The Long Version!


I was a bit disappointed with the Interview I did on CBC’s The National when I saw it last night. It turns out that the video I posted last night was only a ‘teaser’ version. Today a friend sent me the full version of the interview- I’m much happier with this one.

It was a nice surprise to hear Kalle Lasn’s take on occupy was very similar to mine. His explanation of the ‘old-left’ vs. the ‘new-left’ was right on the money. And, hey, they spelled my name properly on this one!

He had read some of my stories here, and was interested to take with me about my story about leaving the Occupy movement- it was the story where I discussed the 5% vs the 99%. Another G20 Vandal Is In Court This Week…

Eva Botton – Vandal who terrorized Torontonians during the G20…

There’s, yet another, G20 criminal going to court this week. This time it is Eva Botton, a BC based criminology (yes, that isn’t a typo) student from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Botton faces five cases of mischief over $5,000 and is alleged to have caused over $160,000 of damage during the G20. She was also charged with wearing a disguise to commit an indictable offence.

It was a short of Kevin filmed by John Deegan, a nutter who is reported to have chained himself inside of a church, Annett was reportedly involved too. That said, this may be a total fabrication, no videos have been released to-date.
