The Unist’ot’en camp is a protest camp in northern BC, mostly led by anarchists and militant NGOs with a couple local indigenous people. Despite their claims to be fighting “colonialism”, the camp runs under Indian Act protocols- meaning, the money is paternalistically managed by their white “settler ally” NGO friends. The RCMP views them as an extremist group, and has been tracking them since at least 2010. Lots more detail here.

One of the mantras we’ve heard from Unist’ot’en and similar camps (assisted and funded through the same NGOs) is that colonial culture has and continues to disrespect and degrade sacred indigenous beliefs and practices. Unfortunately, Warner Naziel at the Unist’ot’en camp doesn’t walk the walk himself.

Investment In CRA Audit Capability Identifies Wrongly Granted Charity Status (Feat. Alternatives)

There was an uproar when the federal government increased the Canada Revenue Agency’s audit funding. Alarmist activists and CBC journalists shot out propaganda warning of an “advocacy chill”, claiming good people at good charities are feeling the screws of “the Harper Government”. Claims were made that Harper himself directly instructed the CRA which charities they should audit. Of course, nobody provided any evidence of this accusation.

The CRA doesn’t release the names of organizations it’s auditing, but several charities disclosed their audits to the media. Audited groups included the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, the David Suzuki Foundation, TIDES Canada, Environmental Defence, and Equiterre. One thing the former five groups have in-common is that they’ve had working relationship with militant activists.

Not so surprisingly, one of the audited charities didn’t add their name to the media’s list until this week. Montreal based Alternatives International not only works with militant activists, they’re at ground zero. You see, Alternatives is basically the Canadian arm of the World Social Forum- a militant social movement that’s behind the anti-globalization movement. That doesn’t sound very charitable- does it?

It’s been a while since this site has covered Occupy Toronto’s favourite husband and wife racists. Davin Ouimet (a.k.a. Reverend Davin Ouimet, a.k.a. Hereditary Chief Davyn Calfchild) is most famous for his copycat 2013 attempt to interrupt Toronto’s Remembrance Day ceremony, mirroring Maoist nutbar occupier Julian Ichim’s attempt to do the same in 2014. But when not desecrating the memories of brave soldiers who died fighting for our country, Ouimet often shows a darker side- hating on people of colour, Mexicans, Jews, Italians, whites and Chinese.

Ouimet was accompanied by his equally controversial wife Cathy Walker, and con-artist Kevin Annett’s greatest supporter (and TDSB schoolteacher) Carrie Lester. Walker has also been seen mimicking Chinese people, but her real hate appears to be for Jews. In 2014 she declared to the world that “Islamic group [sic] need to start taking Hollywood away” from them. In the summer of 2013 Ouimet, Walker and Lester took part in the infamous violent, racist, anti-semitic, and hate filled Occupy Livestream broadcast were “Taliban Billy” threatened to kill white people and “tear the f##king heads off” of “33rd degree masons”.

Despite their overt racism, hate, and other questionable parts of their character; NGO and union led professional protesters often use Davin, Cathy and Carrie to help give their campaigns “indigenous cred”. The trio are so deeply entrenched on Toronto’s radical community they were featured on an anti Line 9 white paper that was sponsored by several Toronto city councillors. On Sunday they helped lead a curiously familiar protest against Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne.

Introduction

The first time I met David Suzuki was in early 2011. I was with a friend and her daughter, exiting Banyen Books in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood (and feeling relieved as we escaped the pan flute music) when I was jolted out of nirvana as my friend grabbed my arm with great excitement saying “look, there he is!”. Her daughter looked up and asked “who?”, “David Suzuki!” said mom. The girl looked up with a sense of wonder and excitement. Suzuki was mom’s hero, she knew that- look in her eyes was as if she just saw God.

The next time I crossed paths with Suzuki was in October when he came to speak at Occupy Vancouver. His visit was unexpected, announced out of the blue with no votes or discussion at the General Assembly. Some of us had a conversation when we heard about the visit, I proposed that it may be a good opportunity to ask hard questions and see what he’s made of. The response I got was somewhat unnerving, with one occupier saying, “You hurt David Suzuki, you hurt Canada”.

With all the positivity I’d heard about David Suzuki, I was shocked when I heard people speaking critically about him. I’ll be honest, the first time I heard Ezra Levant say “Saint Suzuki”, it kind of got under my skin. But the more I learn about his connections to militant extremists, the more I realize that David Suzuki is no saint. Now, after observing recent events on Burnaby Mountain, the situation has become very clear to me- Suzuki is enabling some very dangerous people.

SFU Professor Stephen Collis Lies And Appropriates Indigenous Voice- Will @UBCIC Wake Up?

If you’ve been following this website for long, it’s likely you’re aware of the phenomenon of how the environmental movement all too often appropriates the voices of the indigenous people they claim to support. Kevin Annett is the most obvious example. When he made up stories of Catholic/Anglican/United church clergy murdering 50,000 Indian residential school children, chopping them up to pieces, and burying them in hidden mass graves; socialist obedience cult radicals took his lies to the reserves where they used them to gain influence and speak on their behalf in off-reserve events.

Street level activists like Dave Vasey and Sakura Saunders helped facilitate Annett’s fraud. Shameless websites like Rabble.ca published claims Annett ran an exorcism that caused a tornado to damage the Vatican, or the Media Co-Op who watched Annett pull what he claimed were bones of indigenous kids our of his pockets without questioning how disrespectful his actions would be if the story was actually true, or like the Vancouver Observer’s Linda Solomon who printed Annett’s claims without checking the facts. High-level revolutionaries promoted Annett; Ryerson professor Winnie Ng praised him, UK Marxist George Galloway claimed Annett was given the award for being a “great Canadian”, NDP Socialist Caucus leader Barry Weisleder gave the con-artist a glowing recommendation.

Today we add a new name to the appropriation of indigenous voice hall of shame, and dig deeper into the question of whether it’s safe to send your kids to Simon Fraser University or not. Our subject will be SFU English professor Stephen Collis, a board member at SFU’s controversial Institute for the Humanities who is active with the Council of Canadians. Judged against others whose appropriation was covered on this site, there’s a special place in hell for Stephen Collis- not only did he admit to appropriating the voice of Grand Chief Stuart Phillip, but he did that to help cover-up a criminal act of vandalism against another indigenous activist.

Christy Clark Criticises #BurnabyMountain Parents For Civil Disobedience Stunt- Was She Right?

Wait, there’s something missing here!

One of the more controversial incidents on Burnaby Mountain happened when two parents claimed that their children made a conscious decision to cross police lines and break the court’s injunction. Some observers felt this was a good step towards teaching the children about the value of civil disobedience, others looked at the incident with disgust wondering “how can responsible parents allow this to happen?”. BC Premier Christy Clark spoke out today and shared her opinion saying “it’s not OK”.

As expected, Clark’s statement caused a lot of uproar. Also as expected, the many in the media came out with guns drawn, criticising the premier for her statements. But the media simply made this judgement based on opinion- without analysing the facts…

Art Sterritt Shares “Close Encounters” Theory Of #BurnabyMountain Organizing (Feat. Ben West & Al Jazeera)

Art Sterritt is leader of a foreign funded Canadian NGO called Coastal First Nations. Thug NGO life has been good for Sterritt, his group has brought in millions of dollars from American oligarch’s foundations including the TIDES Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Betty Moore Foundation. Sterritt presents himself to the world as an environmentalist- but doesn’t appear to walk the walk as well as he talks the talk.

Sterritt jetted down to California in October (bringing some family members to add to his carbon consumption) where he was awarded Stanford University Law School’s Bright Award for his work on the “Great Bear Rainforest” (a name made-up by environmentalists). Rumours indicate that after receiving his $100k cheque he may be looking for a bigger ride now (Hummer dealers are starting to get excited). Sterritt was recommended for the award by University of Victoria law professor Calvin Sandborn- who, like David Suzuki, has direct connections to violence aficionado Harsha Walia.

Like most TIDES funded NGO leaders, Sterritt made his way up to Burnaby Mountain this week- go team! It’s unknown if he drove his BMW, but pretty much a given he didn’t take public transit (that’s for the little people, not wealthy recipients of Foundation dough). Sterritt was interviewed by Al Jazeera while he was there- and used the opportunity to share what’s best described as his “Close Encounters” theory of protest organizing.

Can I ask you a question? When’s the last time you took a private walk down a country lane with David Suzuki? I don’t mean when you’re filming b-roll for that big special you’re working on, but just you and David meandering in a private conversation. Have you been one of the lucky few?

If so, please raise your hand in the air and keep it up. Next, if your hand is still up and your personal brand is a household(ish) name (yeah, you Hanomansing), please put it down (Suzuki needs you).
