Two weeks ago Toronto City Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam tweeted out a picture of a hate-filled letter that was mailed to her office at City Hall. The envelope was postmarked on April 10th. It’s unknown when …

Toronto Casseroles March At George Brown College
Yesterday some interesting (though not totally unexpected) news came out on Undercover Kitty’s blog. While attending a debriefing with the leaders from the Quebec student strike, Kitty learned the at the strikes were not as spontaneous as we’ve been led to believe. According to the testimonies of the speakers, the student strikes were two years in the making.
They also discussed using the Occupy movement’s “General Assembly” process two years before Occupy came along. Things that make you go hmmm… Continue reading

Pauline Marois – Leader of the Parti Québécois
I haven’t thought much of the Parti Québécois (PQ) until the few weeks. I knew about their main platform about sovereignty for Quebec- and, personally, I don’t back that. Regardless of the inequities between the benefits given to residents of Quebec, I’d still like to see it as a part of Canada. But, since the recent election, the PQ have taken some bold moves that have left me rather impressed…

Tragically Hip playing in Kensington Market…
Today was an utterly fantastic day. It started-off with a trip to the Evergreen Brick Works, a beautiful place to spend a fall afternoon, and a place I won’t forget for a long time. Then, on my way home, I stopped at Kensington Market to catch-up with some friends.
Just as I arrived, I was surprised with an impromptu concert by The Tragically Hip. They were there to promote their new album “Now For Plan A”. I managed to catch a video of one of their songs- you will find it after the break…

One of the best moments in Occupy Toronto’s history was on May 1st. About 30-40 Occupiers showed-up at Queen’s Park, behind the Ontario Legislature, and ‘peasfully’ planted a communal vegetable garden that day. The Toronto police were very well-restrained, they stood back quietly while Occupiers poured out the soil and planted the seeds. When it was finished, everyone began to celebrate- singing “Give Peas A Chance”.
