Back in December, David Eby tweeted his first mention of BC’s new police watchdog- the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIOBC). I called David on this, questioning if he was being a bit catty in the way he used the word ‘flattering’. UPDATE: In the end, during the second investigation into Gregory Carrington, David Baines helped bring him to justice. In retrospect, after writing this article, I was a little hard on Baines- BC is the securities fraud capital of the world, and he has a hard job keeping on-top of things. Regardless, Carrington is busted now, and hopefully no others will be subjected to his criminality in the future.

Cop Watch’s Jennifer Allan – The Head
I had a long phone call with Jennifer Allan on Thursday. I like Jennifer, she seems like a genuinely good person who is in the middle of something rather sinister. She self-describes as a Christian who, in a previous life spent over seven years as a prisoner’s rights advocate. Jenn tells me her motivation is, ultimately, to make peace- and I have no doubt about that. Unfortunately, this is not true of all the people inside her organization…

The Fukushima accident hasn’t ended yet- in fact, it may have only just begun. The melt-through of the nuclear reactors is only a small part of the challenge. More importantly, there are used fuel storage pools at the power plant- and one of them is precariously close to collapsing.
